Update: Value Stock Picks for the Week of 7/23/12 to 7/27/12

Welcome back to the Value Stock Investing Notebook! Thank you stopping by and supporting the idea of investing in dividend paying stocks for the long term. I wanted to recap last week's picks for you since it is important to review all investments on a weekly, if not daily, basis.

It was a 15 for 20 week. 75of my picks increased in value. A 35% gain from last week. We had a slight increase in successful picks this week and did find some value. When investing in value stocks you should try to hold on for at least a quarter. Let these companies work hard for you so you can maximize your profits.

Until next time friends, keep investing as much as you can on a weekly basis. Perform your due diligence and invest in companies that you feel comfortable with. Do not risk your hard earned dollars by investing in unknown, unreliable companies.

Feel free to watch the great videos below, featuring some of this week's winners!

Update: Value Stock Picks for the Week of 7/16/12-7/20/12

Welcome back to the Value Stock Investing Notebook! Thank you stopping by and supporting the idea of investing in dividend paying stocks for the long term. I wanted to recap last week's picks for you since it is important to review all investments on a weekly, if not daily, basis.

It was a 8 for 20 week. 40of my picks increased in value. A 15% gain from last week's 25% increase. We had a slight increase in successful picks this week and did find some value. Pentair, Inc.(NYSE:PNR) and Synageva BioPharma Corp(NASDAQ:GEVA) increased in value. If you invested $2,000 on 7/16/12 into GEVA, you would have gained $105.66 as of 7/20/12. A sweet profit, all in a week's worth.

When investing in value stocks you should try to hold on for at least a quarter. I like companies such as Checkpoint Systems, Inc.(NYSE:CKP) and  Applied Materials, Inc.(NASDAQ:AMAT) because they are currently undervalued. Let these companies work hard for you so you can maximize your profits.

Recommendation: The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing

BUY THIS BOOK!

The book listed below has truly provided an endless amount of helpful information throughout the years for all of us at the Value Investing Notebook. Click below and buy, buy, buy. Spread the word!

The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing. A Book of Practical Counsel (Revised Edition) [Paperback]
Benjamin Graham (Author), Jason Zweig (Author)

“By far the best book on investing ever written.” (Warren Buffett )

“If you read just one book on investing during your lifetime, make it this one” (Fortune )

“The wider Mr. Graham’s gospel spreads, the more fairly the market will deal with its public.” (Barron's )

This classic text is annotated to update Graham's timeless wisdom for today's market conditions...
The greatest investment advisor of the twentieth century, Benjamin Graham, taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" -- which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies -- has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market bible ever since its original publication in 1949.

Over the years, market developments have proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. While preserving the integrity of Graham's original text, this revised edition includes updated commentary by noted financial journalist Jason Zweig, whose perspective incorporates the realities of today's market, draws parallels between Graham's examples and today's financial headlines, and gives readers a more thorough understanding of how to apply Graham's principles.

Vital and indispensable, this HarperBusiness Essentials edition of The Intelligent Investor is the most important book you will ever read on how to reach your financial goals.

Update: Value Stock Picks for the Week of 7/2/12 to 7/6/12

Welcome back to the Value Stock Investing Notebook! Thank you stopping by and supporting the idea of investing in dividend paying stocks for the long term. I wanted to recap last week's picks for you since it is important to review all investments on a weekly, if not daily, basis.

It was a 5 for 20 week. 25of my picks increased in value. Although we did not make a lot of money this week, we did find some value.  Sirius XM Radio Inc(NASDAQ:SIRI) and CF Industries Holdings, Inc.(NYSE:CF) increased in value. If you invested $1,000 on 7/2/12 into SIRI, you would have gains $108.10 as of 7/6/12. Not too shabby!

When investing in value stocks you should try to hold on for at least a quarter. I like companies such as McDonald's Corporation(NYSE:MCD) and RadioShack Corporation(NYSE:RSH) because they are currently undervalued and also they are very well known in the United States and worldwide! Let these companies work hard for you so you can maximize your profits.

Until next time friends, keep investing as much as you can on a weekly basis. Perform your due diligence and invest in companies that you feel comfortable with. Do not risk your hard earned dollars by investing in unknown, unreliable companies.

ObamaCare Value Stocks - Who Will Benefit?

Who will benefit from the passing of the Affordable Care Act also known as ObamaCare? Well, hopefully each and every member of the United States. However, I strongly believe that healthcare related stocks will benefit as well. Additionally, a few other non-healthcare stocks should increase in value as Obamacare continues to creep into the healthcare sector.

Listed below are stocks which I believe will benefit from the passing of Obamacare. These companies will surely soar to new heights, especially over the next few years.
